Developing Your Creative Practice - Application workshop

The next round of Developing Your Creative Practice funding from Arts Council England will open on the 28th of March. This workshop will help you to make a start and get everything prepared for the opening date!

In this session you will be taken through a step-by-step guide on how to set up an account to apply for Arts Council funding and how to apply for the Developing Your Creative Practice Fund. This workshop is perfect for anyone who has never applied for funding before or those that would love some tips on what they should include in their funding bids.

The session will be an informal talk and demonstration, led by artist and producer Matt Allen. Matt has written numerous successful funding applications and has been working in the arts sector for over 15 years. Matt is currently a Creative Technologist at LEEDS 2023 and has previously worked as a producer at East Street Arts. He has a wealth of experience working as an independent artist, a producer, a venue manager and a company director.  

 

This workshop will cover:

·        How to set up a grantium account

·        How to register for funding

·        What attachments and supporting documents you will need

·        What the process will be, from applying to receiving funding

·        Tips for writing a successful funding application

SLAP Collective present 'The Work Of Art' in partnership with York Creatives. A workshop series for artists and creatives practicing any art form and at any point in their career. 

These workshops cover all aspects of the 'business side' of being an artist. In the current climate it is becoming essential to be able to promote your work and understand how to manage a business, to have a sustainable career in the arts.
