SLAP Collective are creative director & choreographer Lydia Nutter, creative technologist and composer Jack Sibley, and graphics & motion designer Tim Woodson. Collectively we have a wealth of experience spanning game development, web development, VR development, immersive experiences, spatial audio, live performance and more.

SLAP Collective make work which combines original music, mobile technology and live performance, with bright colours, noise and humour. Their work invites audiences to play an active role in shaping the experience, using custom mobile apps, browser-based tools, and responsive sound design to create accessible, participatory environments. At the heart of their practice is a commitment to experimentation, and to disrupting traditional relationships between artist and audience.

Recent projects include Crescengo (2024), a location-based musical game for families exploring a public art trail in York, and ALT+R (2024), an immersive digital wellness spa that playfully critiques online self-care culture. In 2025, they will premiere Bored on the Ward, a music-making game co-created with Blah Theatre and Calderdale Royal Hospital. 

SLAP’s work has been commissioned by Compass Live Art, Make It York, Leeds 2023 & The Place, and supported by Arts Council England and XR Stories. They are currently exploring new light-based work and developing commercial formats of their interactive installations.

Blending digital fluency with performance sensibility, SLAP Collective are building a bold and playful body of work that lives between the screen and IRL, inviting audiences to not just watch or listen, but to touch, move and co-create.
